Help
The most frequently asked question is "How do I log in?" If you're already signed up but can't remember your password, go here and type your email address. Then click "Email new password". The system will create a horrible random new password and email it to you along with your user name. You can then log in on the home page. Then edit your account and make a new password which is easier to remember. If you want to post comments but don't have an account, you need to sign up here. Note that you will not have access to the members-only private pages until the administrator gives you permission, which won't happen unless you are a bona fide member of the PdB community. You will then be able to reply to articles and post in the public forums.
The second most frequently asked question is "How do I enlarge the photos?" Try clicking on them - if there is a larger version, it should appear. There is also a link at the bottom of the gallery photo: "View original". You can click on that link to see the photo, or right-click save to download it. Note that some of these photos are very large (three to five megabytes), so if you have a slow connection be prepared to wait a while.
To post photos, click on "Create Content->Image". Type a title, choose which gallery the photo should appear in, and add some descriptive text. Then choose your photo using the "Browse" button. When you're done, click on the "Submit" button near the bottom of the page, which will upload the photo to the site. You can then either see the photo in the galleries, or use the photo in a forum, blog, article, etc. You insert a photo into your article by clicking on the small icon at the bottom left corner of the "Body" area, either when you are creating or editing the article.
The "Blogs" on this site are used for posting about general opinion pieces, or a diary if you are so inclined. Click on "Create content->Blog".
"Events" are posted in the calendar. Be sure to set the start and end date so your event will show up on the calendar. Note that days on the calendar will be highlighted if there is an event scheduled, and you can access the event by clicking on the day(s). If there is more than one event for a particular day, you will see all of them.
"Articles" are for general news items, while "Forums" are for interactive discussions.
