Party of the year...Casa de las Olas
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Sat, 2006-05-06 22:38. Area Activities & FeaturesA fabulous time was had by all. The Vincents sure do it right. A little help from Gaby Gibson the party planner and it all works. This Fiesta had something for everyone, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful March night. From what I hear, this is a tradition that just keeps getting better. But I'm not quite sure how to top this one! Check it out.

Whale watching in PdB
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Fri, 2006-05-05 14:27. Area Activities & FeaturesIts always exciting when the whales visit the Bay of Banderas. Somebody always starts screaming "Look...Wow!.."
I grab my camera and run out front only to fumble with the focus or not have any room on the CF card. Sometimes I get lucky but 99% of the time I miss the shot. Here are a few of the pics that worked (kind of)...Click to enlarge

Gracias to the Dahls
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Thu, 2006-05-04 16:00.When you see Pat and Bob Dahl the next time, you ought to get down on your knees and give thanks.
They have most unselfishly provided PdB with water from their well. This was no easy task. Click on the pictures to enlarge them:
Important - Recommendations for Punta del Burro
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Tue, 2006-04-25 08:50.Goals
After spending the past several months investigating our current situation, I have come to several important conclusions about how we should proceed with the Punta del Burro home owners association. I have personally spoken with many of you, and would like to thank each and every one of you who has helped me and voiced their concerns and opinions.
The single most important consideration which faces the members of our community is the maintenance of property values. It is likely within the next several years that the combined value of our properties will exceed one hundred million dollars. With this much money at stake, it is reasonable and prudent to invest time and money to protect these investments. This should always be kept in mind as we proceed with our other goals.
Punta del Burro Name?
Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 2006-04-23 08:48. History ChannelPaco, one of the gardeners who works here at Punta del Burro, says the origin of the name of Punta del Burro is from a fish!

He says this was the place to catch this fish, but not anymore. If anyone else can confirm this, please leave a comment...or does anyone have any other stories?
Water Shortage!
Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 2006-04-23 07:17.We are currently experiencing a severe water shortage here in Punta del Burro. Please try to implement any conservation measures that you deem appropriate for your property.
Some residents have already successfully cut their water consumption in half, but even if everyone saves just a little we will all continue to have an uninterrupted supply. Thanks for your help!
Sunset Photo
Submitted by Administrator on Thu, 2006-04-20 08:08. Area Activities & FeaturesYesterday we were sitting on the beach at sunset, drinking Moloko Vellocets with some friends. We were talking about how much the Mariettas look like Marge Simpson's profile and took a picture just as the sun set. Wouldn't you know it, it was one of those rare days when you could plainly see the green flash, which made the picture of the Mariettas much more colorful. (Click to enlarge)

Monty's Creations
Submitted by Administrator on Sun, 2006-03-26 19:48. Community & Area NewsMonty Vincent, who lives with his wife Julie in La Casa de las Olas, has a talent for making beautiful creations out of wood which the locals regard as basura. He collects the wood from the surrounding area and allows it to dry for up to a year. Then he meticulously removes all the dirt and dry rot. The next step involves cleaning and sanding the wood until its natural colors come through. These two pictures show these first two stages of the process.
