A Most Incredible Day around Punta del Burro!
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Sun, 2009-12-20 11:21. Area Activities & FeaturesThe sea spray is still drying on my face as less than an hour ago, I stepped off the boat after one of the most incredible days of my entire life!
Yesterday, December 8, 2009 was the first official day of whale watching in the Banderas Bay. After several days of rain, it dawned a gloriously clear and sunny day. Keith picked me up and we were off by 7:45 am, as excited as two kids on Christmas morning!
Arriving at Los Peines pier, I realized it had been several years since I had been to that particular marina. What changes! Parking, a restaurant, benches - the works! I remember the days of it being a muddy and ugly place but no longer.
Is That TweetyGuy ?
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Wed, 2009-04-01 12:04. Area Activities & FeaturesEvery day we have the same beach fisherman doing his thing at the same location." Tweety" is a beautiful smart Egret who has claimed this beach as his own for several years now.. Paco (resident expert) explained that he is a "he" because of the long feathers on the back of his neck and chest. I happened to be sitting on the rocks in low tide when he began his daily ritual. He would jump up when a wave came and move closer to me after each landing. He didn't seem to mind my presence and came within 10 feet .. there are 5 pictures in this story (click read more). Each pic can be zoomed by clicking on the image and then hit view original.. The 70 foot luxury cruiser (in pic 2) can be chartered and is part of the punta mita fleet. chef included.. enjoy the pix

Mexico plans to begin construction of a space port to send satellites in space this year, an official said Monday.
The facility will be located in the southern state of Quintana Roo on the border with Belize, said state planning minister Jose Alberto Alonso Ovando. The location was chosen after extensive studies in part because of its proximity to the Equator, he said in an interview.

Colima Volcano
Submitted by Willy Smith on Fri, 2006-11-10 09:05. Area Activities & Features
The state of Colima, located south of Jalisco, is home to the "Most Dangerous" volcano in Mexico. This is just close enough for a day trip, but far enough away that you never have to listen for strains of "I Lava You Truly" and "Oh, Pumice Me!" if you live in Punta del Burro. Bad volcano jokes aside, here is a map which will give you a vague idea of where it is:

Damiana, Guaycura
Submitted by Willy Smith on Mon, 2006-10-16 09:00. Area Activities & FeaturesOne of the most enchanting things for me about visiting or living in another country is discovering local specialties which, even though they may be very popular there, have been totally unknown to me. Last week, while shopping at a local Mexican store in the Phoenix Arizona area, I happened to notice a rather large display of damiana tea in various forms. You'd probably not find this at Safeway or Kroger (Fry's), but in any Mexican store it's a given. So I thought I'd share a little bit about this herb.

Four Seasons Golf Club Punta Mita
Submitted by Administrator on Mon, 2006-06-26 07:37. Area Activities & Features(This is taken from Nicklaus.com.)

Four Seasons Golf Course at Punta Mita, an unparalleled private championship course, is distinguished by breathtaking ocean views and 200 pristine acres of lush, rolling hills and flowering landscapes. The 7,104-yard, par-72 course features eight ocean-side holes and an optional "19th" par-3 hole with a natural island green, making it the first of its kind in Mexico.
Set on a natural rock outcropping known as a site for whale watching, the signature island hole, "The Tail of the Whale," features the added challenge of an oceanside tee on the beach, with an undulating green designed in the shape of a whale's tail, situated 199 yards off the coast. A tee box is based on the mainland, while the putting green is set on the idyllic natural offshore island.
Party of the year...Casa de las Olas
Submitted by Joe Refsnes on Sat, 2006-05-06 22:38. Area Activities & FeaturesA fabulous time was had by all. The Vincents sure do it right. A little help from Gaby Gibson the party planner and it all works. This Fiesta had something for everyone, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful March night. From what I hear, this is a tradition that just keeps getting better. But I'm not quite sure how to top this one! Check it out.
