Mal tiempo, fuerte marejada y hasta una “culebra de agua”

History ChannelEl choque de sistemas meteorológicos ocasionó mal tiempo el día de ayer en la región, con viento frío, lluvia, cielo nublado a medio nublado, una fuerte marejada y hasta la formación de una de las llamadas “culebras de agua” en la bahía de Banderas.
Desde temprana hora, el frío, la lluvia y la fuerte marejada llamaron la atención de turistas y habitantes locales en el malecón, quienes vieron con asombro cómo las olas se estrellaban en el muro de contención y en algunas partes el mar lo rebasaba para llegar a la calle.
El mayor espectáculo fue ver en aguas de la bahía de Banderas una de las llamadas “culebras de agua”, que presentan la forma de un tornado, pero que es agua del mar que se levanta por las condiciones meteorológicas que confluyen en ese momento.

In search of the origin of Punta del Burro

Trish Shelton showed me two large shells which she says are the male and female of the Burro shell. The male looks just like what we usually call a Conch, while the female is thicker, rounder and white. She says Ricardo Applegate and his kids gathered on their new property and he named it for the shell, the female, rounded like a burro, like a burrito...Luz was there, Aurea is now deceased, Craig's wife would have been too young, but perhaps she has heard the story, Chef Roger's wife may be able to add mo
Original Punta Del Burro Bylaws

- The Homeowners Associataion shall consist of all owners of lots and homes in Punta del Burro. It shall meet twice a year on the second Sunday of January and the second Sunday of May, and shall elect yearly a president, vice-opresident, secretary and treasurer and such other officers of committee persons as may be needed. Each property owner should have one vote per property. A quorum shall consist of 75% of the homeowners or representatives. Written proxy may be given to another homeowner to vote at meetings where the home/land owner cannot be present. Residents are expected to assist with community upkeep. Those property iowners choosing not to help personally with cooperative efforts, such as emergencty rtepairs to water pipes, should pay their workers for assistance help.
Punta del Burro Name?

He says this was the place to catch this fish, but not anymore. If anyone else can confirm this, please leave a comment...or does anyone have any other stories?
